Tissue Paper Pom-Pom Tree Complete

Heya sweeties!!

I just wanted to stop in and post a completed picture of my pom-pom tree I made!!! I am not really quit sure where I will put it but I am starting to unpack my Christmas things today!!! I am looking forward to seeing all those pretty Christmas decorations on all the wonderful blogs in cyber space over the next month, definitely my favorite time of year!!! Well I better run but I do hope you enjoy the photos!!

What I did....

Basically following Martha Stewarts pom-pom instruction except I took the tissue paper "can be purchased at Wal-Mart or any other store in gift wrap section" approx 19 inch x 2ft sheets and folded the longest part in half! Then I folded the longest part of that in half and then again so it gave me the creases I needed to cut the sheet into 8 small sheets, thus allows me to make smaller pom-poms! I then followed the instructions on her website but when it came time to pull the papers apart I pulled them all upward into a flower rather then a pom-pom!

I also used chenille stems rather then wire around the middle of my pom pom so when I was done making them I could put a little tacky glue/super glue on the bottom of the pom pom and stem which I flattened against the pom pom. I then placed the pom-poms on my Styrofoam tree form getting them as close together as possible so not to have any gaps. "Styrofoam tree form can be purchased at Wal-Mart or Michaels in the craft section!!"

Have a lovely weekend friends!! If you have questions about this let me know, I can take more photos of the process as i need to make more little pom-poms in order to make my wreath ;O)

A quick share and Happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving sweet friends!!

Well I ended up installing a new drive, actually 2 new drives in my computer and some more memory and I have finally finished loading most of my programs so I am happy to be up and running!!!

My daughter unfortunately had strep throat which started on Saturday, poor little thing was running 103 temps and even with Tylenol and Advil I could not get them below 101. I was a nervous wreck, which I imagine many of you have been through!!! Don't think I have ever seen my baby girl so quiet but she got through it and is on the mend now thanks to her antibiotic!! The good part is while sitting next to her in bed when she would be resting I would be working on this cute tree!!!

Pretty boring at the moment as I just finished it last night but I am thinking I will add some pretty mica or silver glitter to the tips of each pom pom and then put some pretty balls and maybe little butterflies on it!! What do you think? I am open to your decorating suggestions??

I love the tissue paper pom poms that are on Martha Stewart's site so what I did was make a bunch of small pom poms, I did open them all the way but rather then fan them to open all the way around in a ball shape I fanned them all one way

then glued the flat side to a Styrofoam piece the shape of a tree!! I also plan to make a matching wreath and some balls hopefully this weekend!!! I have to tell you, making all those little pom poms was very time consuming girls.... holy moley...lol!! I will put up more pictures when all is complete and maybe a more detailed how I did it later "if needed?", I must get the house ready for guests tomorrow!! ;O)

I also wanted to share a few little things I picked up a couple weeks ago while out thrifting!!

A cute little pink Victorian girl, I could not pass her up!!

A couple of lovely plates!!

OK well I better run, still have a ton of housework to do and need to get started on some cooking!! Hope you all have an absolutely wonderful Thanksgiving with family and/or friends!!!

Many BIG hugs!

Failure Failure!!!! Crash Crash!!!!

Ok girls!! I am just doing a little update to let you know my computer decided it was time for me to buy a new one...lol!!! I believe my main hard drive decided it was time to crash and burn!! I will either replace the drive with a new one or buy a new PC all together, I am leaning toward buying a new one but it will be much cheaper to just install a new main drive so we shall see. I can do all the work myself luckily~~~!!! I was a computer analyst for many years so I have a lot of experience with it but to be honest it is quit easy to remove and install a new one so if you have this same issue and feel pretty computer savvy..... just go buy a hard drive and give it a shot "directions are inside the box"!!!

One thing I would recommend, ALWAYS buy a computer that gives you the Microsoft Windows disk because if your drive fails you will need that for installation!! Those backup partitions are worthless if your drive is no good or you decide to upgrade it!!

Oh, I am sure most of you know this but ALWAYS back up your drives, I usually do but had not done a full back up in a couple months so shame on me! I use a second internal drive and a 3rd external so I have 2 mirrors of my main drive!! You can use Cd's or DVDs if you like but always have a back up especially of those things you cannot lose like special photo's!!!

Hugs sweeties!!!! Hope you are all excited for the upcoming holidays!! I hope to have some photos for you soon of some of my projects over the last month or so!!
